Below are more personalized tips and tricks for each type of alteration appointment at Aimee Michelle. Our team is specially trained to help suggest options and ensure your happiness!

what to know before booking an appointment …

  • Consultants cannot give a price on alterations, as it is in the hands of the seamstress. An appointment is required with one of our talented seamstress for a consultation and price.

  • Alterations are at additional charge. Costs are quoted at your first fitting. A payment is required for the first fitting to proceed. Second fittings are sometimes necessary.

  • Returns or exchanges cannot be made on altered gowns. Please note, we cannot change the size of your gown after your order is placed. We are able to measure you and help choose your size for bridal attire according to charts furnished by manufacturer, but the final decision is yours. All merchandise must be picked up by the original date of wear of will be forfeited.

  • Merchandise will not leave the store unless all balances are completed.

Family and friends are welcome to attend fittings. Please call ahead for parties 3 or more

We suggest scheduling your first alterations appointment at least 12 weeks before the date of your wedding. You are welcome to make your appointment earlier if your schedule allows.

For Bridesmaids, Mother-of-the Bride/Groom, and Evening/Special Occasion garments, we suggest scheduling your first appointment 6-8 weeks before pickup. Alterations of these garments typically require one 30 minute appointment,

At the time of your appointment:

  • First fitting appointments are scheduled for one hour for Wedding, Débutante, and Quinceanera Gowns. Mothers, Evening and Bridesmaids garments are scheduled for half an hour.

  • Shoes with proper heel height, and undergarments (including but not limited to: petticoat / slip, bra, spanx) must be brought to the first fitting and proceeding fittings.

  • Full payment is due once finished discussing.

for the BRIDE:

Proper undergarments and shoes are required. We can provide cups at your request. Suggestions for bustles, straps, and removal or addition of details are presented at this time. Most of our brides on average need two to three fittings, so we request our brides to come in two to three months before their wedding date. Bring anything accessory-wise to your fitting to confirm your happiness on the final look.

for the BRIDAL PARTY:

Proper undergarments and shoes are required. We can provide cups at your request. Suggestions for bustles, straps, and removal or addition of details are presented at this time. We require bridesmaids to come in around one to two months before the wedding date. If a member of your party is not local, we can discuss express options. Bring anything accessory-wise to your fitting to confirm your happiness on the final look.

for the PROM QUEEN:

Proper undergarments and shoes are required for prom fittings. We can provide cups at your request. Suggestions for bustles, straps, and removal or addition of details are presented at this time. Aimee Michelle carries tons of glam jewelry to cater to your needs. We ask our prom girls to come in around one to two months before the wear date. This also aligns perfectly with when your date comes in, so let us color-match his tie before your dress is on its’ way home!
